In July 2024, the Roshni Foundation, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview Charitable Trust, launched a significant initiative to enhance the educational experience for children in 14 Zilla Parishad (Z.P.) Schools across Dahanu and Talasari Talukas. This collaborative effort brought joy to 2,500 students by equipping their schools with essential playground equipment, including swings, slides, climbers, horizontal bars, and merry-go-rounds.
A Step Towards Holistic Child Development
At Roshni Foundation, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Playgrounds are vital for children’s physical, emotional, and social development. The newly installed playground equipment at these Z.P. schools is designed to encourage outdoor play, fostering confidence, coordination, and teamwork among the children. The variety and number of items were thoughtfully selected based on the space available and the specific needs of each school’s student population.

This playground equipment distribution is a continuation of our ongoing efforts to uplift tribal schools in the region. Last academic year, Roshni Foundation successfully upgraded 13 Z.P. schools in Dahanu with similar playground facilities. These enhancements have not only improved the schools’ infrastructure but have also led to a notable increase in student admissions. Parents and students are increasingly drawn to Roshni-associated schools, which now feature rich libraries, a variety of sports equipment, smart TVs with E-learning programs, modern toilet blocks, vibrant baby furniture, and well-ventilated classrooms.
